El Salvador — La Casa de mi Padre
Children in residential care, plus house parents, teachers, and on-site staff
About This Project
La Casa de mi Padre (My Father's House) is a Christ-centered children's home in El Salvador caring for kids who have been separated from their families through the judicial system due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Direct neurofeedback has been delivered on-site for over two years, with 18,000+ sessions completed and 97% of participants showing measurable improvement. This is our flagship deployment and our largest ongoing commitment — covering machines, consumables, training, and continued expansion.
Why This Population
The children at La Casa de mi Padre come from backgrounds of violence, poverty, and family separation — placed there by the court system when no safer option exists. Many arrived with nervous systems locked in survival mode: unable to sleep, learn, or feel safe. The house parents and on-site staff who care for them carry their own unresolved trauma. What makes this model powerful is that everyone receives sessions — children and adults alike. When the adults heal, the environment changes. When the environment changes, the children have a real chance. Direct neurofeedback reaches what talk therapy cannot. It works at the neurological level, helping the brain regulate itself without requiring the child to verbalize or relive trauma. For kids who have never had the words — or the safety — to speak about what happened to them, this is what healing actually looks like.
What Your Funding Covers
Ongoing support for La Casa de mi Padre — including the permanent purchase of neurofeedback equipment the home has been borrowing, supplies and consumables, practitioner training, and capacity for the program to continue serving every child and adult on campus. Funding also supports the partnership with the school where the practitioner additionally works (ONUVA / Complejo Educativo Católico Nuestra Señora de las Gracias), so children who pass through both settings receive consistent care.
